Xbox Price Increases Announced Worldwide

Just a few weeks after PlayStation announced their own price bumps to certain models of the PS5, Microsoft have followed suit and have announced price rises for all Xbox Series models across the world. In the UK, this means that the Xbox Series X will face a £20 increase to an RPP of £449.99 whilst the Xbox Series S will only go up by £50 to £299.99.

Compared to the rest of the world, however, these price bumps are actually quite minimal. In the US (which is undergoing massive changes with its tariffs), the series X is going up to $600- a $100 price bump. The Series S is also seeing a substantial rise of $80. The most impactful increase, however, is that of the 2TB Xbox Series X- which is seeing a huge jump in $130 to be $730 in total. This puts it as the most expensive home console- exceeding that of the PS5 Pro.

Its not only the prices of consoles that have seen increases, however. Xbox also confirmed that games would be seeing a price increase at the end of the year. This means that certain new Xbox games will be retailing for £80 on release- on par with the announced Mario Kart World announced last month. This will apply to both physical and digital versions of the game- with the same price point in place whether or not it’s a physical copy.

The price of controllers and headsets will also themselves face price increases although the fill details on these remain to be fully confirmed. Whether these price bumps will also ensure that the cost of Xbox Game Pass rises remains to be seen but it stands to reason that, with higher priced games coming to the service, Game Pass itself will see a substantial rise in cost at some point later this year.
