GTA VI Set for May 2026 Release Date
In some of the first official news on GTA VI since its initial reveal trailer years ago, Rockstar Games have confirmed a release date of May 26th, 2026, for the game. The highly anticipated release has been the subject of rumours, speculation and leaks for years but, with this final release date confirmation, at least fans can rest assured that GTA VI is coming next year (probably).
Commenting on the announcement, Rockstar stated the following:
“We are very sorry that this is later than you expected. The interest and excitement surrounding a new Grand Theft Auto has been truly humbling for our entire team. We want to thank you for your support and your patience as we work to finish the game.”
GTA VI will be a momentous release and is likely going to be the best-selling game of next year when it does come out. Following on from the massive success of GTA V, the series only continues to grow. While GTA V’s online mode slowed the eventual release of the sixth entry, we finally approach the last year or so until the game is set to launch.
While the game is expected to hit PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles, a day in date PC release has been confirmed to not be happening. This was what happened with its predecessor, GTA V, meaning PC players will likely have to wait for a year or so until this sixth entry reaches online storefronts.
No news on any second trailer has yet been revealed but we should see something from the game at some point in the summer games announcement window in June. Keep your eyes on Rockstar’s social pages for details in the coming months.
