Sonic Racing: Crossworlds Announces Nickelodeon Crossover Characters

Despite being over three months until launch, Sonic Racing: Crossworlds is already announcing a bunch of DLC as part of the game’s season pass. This kart racer that sees famous Sega characters compete in varying tracks that change drastically as players jump into different dimensions has caught the eye of quite a few players since its announcement. Even more exciting was the reveal at Summer Game Fest where Yakuza, Persona and even Minecraft characters and courses were announced.

Sega doesn’t seem to be slowing down with the hype train for this latest Sonic racing release, however. They recently confirmed that several Nickelodeon characters would be coming to the game as DLC. This includes Avatar: The Last Airbender, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and even Spongebob. Its not just characters and karts inspired by these IP's that will be making their way to the game, however. Entire courses will be made available through purchase of these DLCs.

It does seem like, ahead of launch, Sega is trying to make Sonic Racing: Crossworlds the Smash Brothers of racing games- with crossover characters already being announced at a rapid rate. With big picks like Minecraft and Spongebob coming to the game too, it appears that its not just Sega characters that we’ll look forward to playing as.

No price for these specific pieces of DLC have been confirmed but its exciting to see so many different franchises converge in a kart racer in a way that we haven’t really see before. If you’re interested, Sonic Racing: Crossworlds is set for a release date of 25th September 2025. Keep your eyes on the social channels for more on this one prior to release- there’s sure to be a lot more surprise announcements before the game drops.
