Tango Gameworks Gets New Look

After its premature closure at the hands of Microsoft, Tango Gameworks got a new lease on life. They’ve now recently rebranded with a whole new logo- representing their new life under Krafton after it was purchased by the publisher last year. The new logo can be seen below:

The studio, best known for survival horror ‘The Evil Within’ duology and 2023’s excellent ‘Hi-Fi Rush’ was unceremoniously closed less than a year after the successful launch of their inventive action rhythm release. No concrete answer was provided for this closure but it was part of a wider restructuring program from Microsoft which saw several other studios be shut down.

Thankfully, the studio barely survived destruction when it was bought out by Krafton. The PUBG publisher bought both Tango Gameworks as well as the rights to Hi-Fi Rush- showing a willingness to have Tango continue work on this series after the debut game’s success. Other IPs like ‘The Evil Within’ were left behind but around half of the original team working at Tango Gameworks have been retained.

With a new logo and direction under the leadership of Krafton, hopefully, Tango Gameworks can be given as much freedom as possible to continue creating the games they want to release. Since the acquisition is still relatively recent, any new releases from the studio are still likely a ways off but its good to know that they get to continue their work.
