Persona 4 Remake is Officially Confirmed

If you’ve somehow avoided the rumours and leaks relating to a potential Persona 4 remake, you would have got a nice surprise at last week’s Xbox Summer Games showcase when Persona 4 Revival was announced. We only got to see a brief snippet of the game, but the environments already look like an excellent rendition of the original. If this version managed to enhance Persona 4 like how Persona 3 Reload did with its original, this is set to be an excellent release.

Many have noted that the player character model shown in the trailer looks quite rough. This, alongside the very brief gameplay shown, indicates that this release is still in the early stages or development. The lack of any release window cements this. This has led to speculation that Atlus only released this trailer to finally confirm the game after if had been thoroughly leaked in the previous weeks- including by previous voice actors themselves.

Questions on whether the content from Persona 4 Golden will be included have been circulating online. This included a new social link and endgame dungeon that added a lot to the overall narrative of Persona 4. This also raises the question as to whether the improvements made to the game from ‘Golden’ will be implemented or if it will remain faithful to the original release. Persona 3 Reload decided to forgo the additions of P3 Portable (including a female player character) but did provide P3 FES’s ‘The Answer’ as a piece of paid DLC six months or so after the game released. Whether this strategy will remain the same for Persona 4 Revival remains to be seen.

No release date or window have been set by Atlus just yet- indicating that this release is still quite a way off. Hopes that this could be coming in 2025 have been dashed by this but its still good news to get confirmation on its existence (even if it was already all but confirmed). Keep an eye on Atlus’s social channels in the coming months for more information on Persona 4 Revival- even if its not likely to release until 2026 at the earliest.
