Hell Is Us is a Strong Action Romp

The latest game from relatively unknown studio ‘Rogue Factor’ has launched to a positive reception from fans and critics. ‘Hell is Us’ had an interesting leadup to release including some vague trailers showcasing some horror-adjacent vibes and gameplay. Thankfully, it seems that Hell Is Us mostly delivers on the promise of a fun action-adventure romp in an interesting world with some psychological horror elements mixed in.

The game is currently sitting at a respectable 82 on Opencritic with 85% of critics recommending the game. It’s a similar story on Steam, where an early access period has placed the game at a very positive 91% rating. Of course, its still early on in the game’s life but it seems that Hell is Us provides some interesting third person action combat in a unique setting and world.

TheSixthAxis had the following to say in their 7/10 review:

“Hell Is Us is a genuinely interesting game that many will adore for its commitment to letting you spend your time exploring mysteries and unlocking lore. The fact that you'll want a notepad near you will send some of you rabid, and that's great. For me though, Hell Is Us is a game that looks beautiful in every respect, but ends up feeling a little bit too paint-by-numbers when it comes to the actual mechanics at play”

It seems that Hell Is Us has its strongest points in regard to its story and world about supernatural beings in a war torn country. While it lacks a bit of flavour when it comes to its core gameplay, it still seems to be a decent romp if you do feel captivated by its unique setting. You can pick up Hell is Us now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series Consoles and PC.
