Gamescom Opening Night Live Kicks Off Tomorrow
The next in 2025’s big gaming events kicks off tomorrow (and it’s a very big one). Gamescom remains the worlds largest gaming convention- with this year set to be even bigger than the last. Of course, it being a gaming event, Geoff Keighley is back to show off some games as part of the show’s Opening Night. This is set to kick off at 8:00pm BST and should run for around 2 hours. There’s also a pre-show slated for around 30 minutes before the larger show that will let some smaller games have the limelight.
As for what we may see at Gamescom ONL, its best to set your expectations a little lower since this event is historically less bombastic when compared to Summer Games Fest and The Game Awards. Gamescom mostly highlights already revealed games in greater detail rather than exclusive reveals of never-before-seen games. Geoff Keighley has confirmed eight already revealed games that are getting a presence at the show. This includes Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Resident Evil: Requiem, The Outer Worlds 2, Ninja Gaiden 4, Silent Hill f, Ghost of Yotei, and World of Warcraft: Midnight.
We’re also set to get a look at Amazon Prime’s Fallout Season 2 (perhaps in the form of a first trailer), which is set to take out protagonists to New Vegas. Although we know about eight games set to have some sort of presence, this is only the tip of the iceberg. There are still likely to be some exclusive reveals but its best to temper your expectations with this one.
Of course, with any event, Hollow Knight fans will be waiting with bated breath to see some news on Silksong. This time, however, it’s more likely than before. This is because Hollow Knight Silksong will have a playable demo as part of the event. Whether this means we’ll get any news on the game itself (such as a release date) during the event has yet to be confirmed. To (maybe) see Silksong and a whole host of upcoming games, you can check out Gamescom ONL when it kicks off tomorrow, August 19th at 8:00pm BST.
