Persona 4 Seemingly Confirmed- But Not How You’d Expect

Good news Persona fans: a Persona 4 Remake does seem to be coming. If you’re clamouring for a look at the release in the form of a new trailer or even screenshots, unfortunately, nothing official has been confirmed by Sega or Atlus just yet. Instead, in what may be one of the strangest reveals of a new release, two voice actors have confirmed the existence of the game by confirming that they won’t be part of the project.

The first news came about from Yuri Lowenthal (known as the voice of Insomniac’s Spider-Man series), who confirmed on Twitter/X that he would not be returning as the voice of Yosuke for the Persona 4 Remake. This news was surprising for fans in that Atlus had not provided any information on the existence of a Persona 4 remake in any sense until this point. Days after, Erin Fitzgerald (voice actress for Chie in Persona 4) herself confirmed that she would also not be returning to Persona 4’s remake.

These two announcements confirm that a Persona 4 remake is coming- and it could be announced soon. As for why these actors were not asked to return, this could simply be Atlus bringing in fresh talent to voice the characters for a new generation. This is what happened with Persona 3 Reload when it came out earlier last year and, despite some pushback, it ended up working quite well in the end.

Despite these Tweets, no official announcements have been made by Atlus regarding a Persona 4 Remake. However, considering that these are predominant voices in the industry, it’s safe to assume that this remake does indeed exist and could be announced soon. Atlus may be waiting to announce this as part of Summer Games Fest or even Xbox’s Summer Showcase later this week.
