Donkey Kong Bananza Launches To Fantastic Reviews

By far the biggest release of this week, Donkey Kong Bananza has launched to fantastic reviews. The big ape's comeback is currently sitting at a mighty 91 on Opencritic- putting it up there with Expedition 33, Death Stranding 2 and Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 as some of the highest rated releases of the year. If it wasn't clear enough, Donkey Kong Bananza is the Switch 2's first real system seller- especially for platformer fans.

This adventure sees Donkey Kong with a whole new look smash his way through enemies, obstacles and even the environment with what seems to be a Breath of the Wild inspired destruction system. The team who made Super Mario Odyssey are behind this one- so it was always going to be a sure-fire hit. Thankfully, even with some slight technical issues thanks to the entirely terraformable world, this release is an instant classic amongst fans and critics.

IGN awarded the game a coveted 10/10 in their review pointing to the satisfying movement and enjoyable world to explore in their review. They said the following:

"Donkey Kong Bananza is a truly groundbreaking 3D platformer, with satisfying movement, powerful abilities, impressive destructible environments, and clever challenges that all come together in complete harmony to create Nintendo’s first Switch 2 masterpiece."

Buzz online from fan forums seems to solidify that Donkey Kong Bananza is one of the first must buy games for the Switch 2.

If you're interested in seeing a huge ape jump, swing and barrel his way around a full destructible new world, you can pick up Donkey Kong Bananza now exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2. A physical copy is £65 while a digital version is retailing for a cheaper £59. If you already have a Switch 2, this is a no brainer.
