Silent Hill 2 Remake Sells 2.5 Million Copies

According to a recent announcement from Konami, 2024’s Silent Hill Remake has managed to top 2.5 million copies sold. This makes it the best-selling game in the series as the franchise tops 10 million copies sold worldwide. It’s a huge achievement for a survival horror release, which saw this remake sell over 1 million copies alone in its first week.

The game being a remake of a revered classic likely contributed to this figure but the effort put in by Bloober Team with new voice acting, completely overhauled graphics and vastly improved combat makes Silent Hill 2 Remake the definitive version of the original. Of course, the eerie atmosphere is always going to look and feel better on an original PS1 but the psychological elements transfer over very well.

The series is on quite a high since the release of this year’s Silent Hill f was also met with a very positive reception. This was quite a departure from the generally western-set first games in the series by putting a Japanese spin on the series but its been a clear success. The psychologuical elements are still very much present but in a very different way.

With Dead Space, Resident Evil and Silent Hill all receiving their own massively successful remakes in recent years, hopefully the upcoming new entries in their series manage to maintain this level of quality when they eventually release. For now, you can play the latest Silent Hill ‘Silent Hill f’ on PS5, PC and Xbox Series Consoles. The same is true for the Silent Hill 2 Remake.
