Forza Horizon 6 is Coming to Japan!
As part of last month’s Tokyo Games Show, Xbox finally announced the setting and release window for the much-anticipated 6th entry in the Forza Horizon series. This latest release is set to come out next year with a map based on Japan. This follows on from Mexico, the UK and Australia as the most recent settings in the series. Only a short teaser trailer has been shown so far but it confirmed the Japanese setting with a beautiful shot of Mt/Fuji.
Of course, despite being huge, the Forza Horizon maps are condensed versions of the locations in which they are based. This means that most of the more recognisable areas will be a lot closer than the real-life counterparts. Expect to see the traditional towns of Kyoto and Nara, the bustling cities of Osaka and Tokyo and the calming rice fields around the foot of Mt.Fuji as some of the areas brought to life in this car sim.
Xbox cited fan enthusiasm for the setting and the whole host of possibilities present with such a diverse location. From the frigid northern lands of Hokkaido to the tropical southern islands of Okinawa and everything in between. They also pointed to the blend of traditional and modern locations that should bring a wide variety to the roads players will see themselves exploring.
The car culture of Japan will also be heavily explored with this latest entry- much like how the UK had its own culture implemented in Horizon 4. Much like the previous two entries, this sixth entry will also have changing seasons as players explore- meaning the diverse seasons of Japan will be captured from the blooming of cherry blossoms to the humming cicadas in summer. No concrete release date has been revealed for this just yet but expect to see Forza Horizon 6 at some point in 2026.
