Summer Games Fest and Xbox Directs Confirmed for Early June
As we gear up to the summer reveal window for games that has replaced E3, different developers are teasing reveals or announcing their own showcases for fans to get excited about. The first big three showcases that we know about now have official dates and times so make sure to add them to your calendar if you want live information on new reveals and updates on upcoming releases.
The show that generally kicks off this reveal window is Geoff Keighley’s Summer Games Fest- which has been the replacement for E3 since 2020. This, alongside the December’s Game Awards, is the biggest gaming showcase of the year and is likely to have some of the bigger name reveals. The show kicks off this year at 10:00 PM BST and, if anything like other years, will probably run for around 2 hours. Any unannounced third party 2025 releases may get their first looks in this show.
The next biggest show that has been announced (so far) is the Xbox showcase set to air just a couple of days after. On June 8th at 6:00 BST, we’ll hopefully see more news on big upcoming Xbox releases like Fable, Gears of War E-Day and The Outer Worlds 2- which is actually set to have its very own Direct at the end of the showcase similarly to Starfield and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 in the past few years.
Any other potential showcases from PlayStation or Nintendo have yet to be revealed but, considering that the Nintendo Switch 2 launches just days before this summer window, it would be a good time to build up even more hype for the console. As for PlayStation, a showcase in either the weeks before or after Summer Games Fest has been the norm. There is also Day of the Devs set for June 7th at 12:00 BST that’s set to show off a bunch of upcoming smaller scale releases. Make sure to check this one out if you’re into the indie games scene.
